Harry Van Gelder 1905-1995 |
Harry Van Gelder DO ND was a lifetime member of the Theosophical Society. He was born in Indonesia in 1905 of Dutch parents, and went to Australia as a young man where he studied science and engineering at the University of Sydney. During his youth he and his sister, Dora Van Gelder Kunz were students of C.W. Leadbeater, famous occultist, sage, and seer, as well as many other early leaders of the Theosophical Society, He became interested in healing when he was 23 when he learned the Indonesian science of herbs and homeopathy and began practicing during the 1930s. Harry received degrees in England in Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, and Naturopathy. He studied Naturopathic Ayurvedic medicine in India. His contributions in the healing arts span more than 50 years until his death in 1995. in 1985 he founded the Temple of Noetic Science in Portland, Oregon. He came into my life (Eliza) in 1990 at just the right time to help me out of a period of great personal distress and struggle. I consider him my most important spiritual mentor who helped me heal what ailed me at that time, and gave me and countless others worldwide, the tools to seek and attain Unity, Beauty, and Peace. His influence on my life was and is so profound that I feel I could never adequately thank him for sharing his knowledge, healing, and friendship. He is the author of two books: Inner Peace Through The Process of Knowing: Essays in Metapsychology, 1985, and The Process of Healing, 1989. Van Gelder . Merry Land West, Australia: H.
